One of my favorite times of the year

This is one of my favorite times of the year. Advent expects and even yearns for עִמָּנוּאֵל or "God with us".

As the world increases her already fast race to get Christmas just right, the Church in her wisdom slows us down. We are encouraged to begin by looking inward and prepare by making room in this busy season for Christ. He appears to us as a beggar, a prisoner, a widow, an orphan and a friend. He asks for a share of our bountiful blessings.

I pray that we make time for the lowly child waiting to be born anew. The heart of Christmas is found in the joy of love. Love that stops at nothing. Watch and see the love of God leap from heaven to be with us and to calm our nightly fears; hear the Father's voice beckoning us into relationship as the dawn breaks. Quiet! Quiet.

It begins today...

Each day is a blank page waiting to be written on. I'm excited by the opportunity to share my journey. A photo may capture the action but it says nothing of motivation. What inner workings sprouted and grew from thought to word, from words to action, from actions to habit, from habit to destiny.

I'm unashamed of another aspect of this blog. My journey is spiritual in nature. As St. Theresa suggests, there is an interior castle waiting to be explored.

You are welcome on this adventure.

So let it begin!
